Green and White Ribbon Cafe’
The Green and White Ribbon Cafe’ is a medium sized Cafe’ operating out of Raumati Beach. The owners, Gordon & Norma, approached us one month after opening the business. Gordon and Norma have operated other businesses in the past and understand that quality marketing is integral to a businesses success in the long run.
After consulting with the owners over some great coffee, the team at Bespoke Marketing sprang into action. We identified three main marketing channels to focus on: Google My Business, Facebook and Instagram. Other cafes and eateries in the area are very active on these channels, so we knew straight away that we needed to produce engaging content to compete with them.
We devised a social media marketing strategy which played to the strengths of the cafe’. We knew from our consultancy sessions that Gordon & Norma placed a large amount of emphasis on giving back to the community through charitable initiatives. This was something we really liked, and thought should be used as their point of difference. We also needed to find a way to engage with the younger generation, as Kapiti College was just around the corner. Instagram was the obvious solution for this, as the median age of active users is much younger than those of Facebook. However, we also needed the content itself to appeal to younger users. so we decided to post the food and drink content nearly exclusively on Instagram due to the fact that Instagram has a massive community centered around food.
With our strategy prepared, we went about gathering content. Our internal photographer took images of the food, cafe’ decor, staff, and charity initiatives run by the Cafe’ while written content was prepared to be matched with the images. Once our content was ready, we scheduled posts on Facebook to be posted at times where their current following was the most active to encourage engagement and reach. At the same time, we devised a content schedule for Instagram and created a comprehensive Google My Business listing.
We saw results instantly, organic reach and engagement increased dramatically on both Instagram and Facebook. A single Facebook post created by us reached over 5,800+ people organically, incredible statistics when you consider that the page only had approx 300 followers at the time of posting. On Instagram we received mentions from local “Foodies” reviewing and sharing images of the food from the Cafe’ to their own following, thus increasing the following of the page organically.
Bespoke Marketing Solutions still work very closely with the Cafe’, we visit the owners monthly to go over Social Media statistics and to gather content. In fact, the Cafe’ has been so successful that the owners are currently in the process of opening another business in Raumati, which we will be involved in.
